questions

What age did you start gymnastics?

Age 3.

What do you enjoy about gymnastics?

How cool it is, that it is totally normal to be in a room full of double backs and triples then you run back to the end of the tumble track and start talking about friends or school, on a serious not I love that gymnastics has given someone who struggled with academics a different avenue in life as I’m sure it does for many other people!

What is hardest part of gymnastics?

The hardest thing about gymnastics is that it is your whole life you dedicate everything so when you feel like your failing it’s a tough pill to swallow.

Memories

For sure being selected to represent GB in Slovenia that was my goal before I left for uni and closed my competitive chapter so to see that through and be selected off my own talent was a massive achievement for me

It’s too hard to pin 18 years of memories into just 2, I could say winning competitions or learning a specific skill but honestly when I think back a common thread in my Teamgym memories is laughing I’m sure my coach at the time Chris wasn’t best pleased with all the laughing and joking around but hey we were still winners at the end of the day, myself and my friends still talk about those times in the gym to this day so to me those memories are priceless.

ADVICE

Always keep smiling. Not being able to do a skill isn’t the end of the world, so no tears, save them for a sad film. Gymnastics is tough but your tougher and with a positive mindset and kindness you will get to do everything you thought you couldn’t do and more!
